Overhead Movable Scaffolding System (OMSS)

We’re proud to announce the successful first launchings of the Overhead Movable Scaffolding System (OMSS) — a cutting-edge bridge construction method that enables the rapid and safe erection of spans without the need for ground-based support. This system has now placed the initial segments of what will become Greece’s longest bridge, a 4 km engineering feat forming the backbone of the Thessaloniki Flyover, a new elevated expressway stretching 7.6 km above the existing Eastern Ring Road.

This transformative infrastructure project marks a leap forward for urban mobility in Thessaloniki, replacing a road network originally designed in the 1970s–80s with a modern, high-capacity solution.

During the launchings, teams from NRS (the OMSS manufacturer) and engineers from HiSCS were on-site, working closely with construction crews to ensure precision, safety, and efficiency in deploying the system.

With over 35 years of experience, NRS continues to provide expert support in planning and optimizing OMSS operations, helping meet the demanding technical requirements of this landmark project.

As the official representative of NRS in Greece, HiSCS is honored to contribute to one of the country’s most ambitious and technically advanced infrastructure endeavors.
