HiSCS has completed the initial placement – installation of elastomeric expansion joints on a new concrete road bridge project.
The installed joints accommodate ±60 mm of longitudinal and transverse movement, ensuring the bridge remains safe, durable, and comfortable for users in full compliance with the structural design requirements. The total installed joint length was 20 meters.
These flexible, durable components may seem small compared to the scale of the bridge, but they play a critical role in long-term safety and performance:
- Accommodating Movement: As the bridge expands and contracts due to temperature changes and traffic loads, the joints ensure controlled, stress-free movement.
- Protecting the Structure: Properly installed elastomeric joints seal out water and debris, preventing corrosion and preserving the bridge’s structural health.
- Enhancing Ride Quality: A smooth, well installed joint means a smoother experience for every vehicle that crosses.
- Extending bridge lifespan. With proper performance and maintenance, these joints help reduce long-term repair costs and improve overall durability.
Our team is proud to deliver high quality workmanship at every stage of construction, and today’s progress brings us one step closer to completing a resilient, long-lasting piece of infrastructure for the community.
